Ellwood City is approximately 40 miles from the Pittsburgh International Airport (www.flypittsburgh.com) and also easily accessible to the smaller New Castle and Zelienople Municipal Airports and Butler County Airport.

State Route-65, Route-488, Route-288 weave throughout portions of the Borough of Ellwood City allowing for easy access to neighboring communities and highways. State Route-351 (Lawrence Avenue) leads travelers through the heart of downtown Ellwood City, including passing the municipal building and offices.

Ellwood City is also a community touched by the New Castle Transit Authority, a public transportation system offered six days a week, with bus routes throughout Lawrence County and the streets of Ellwood City. Daily weekday service is offered to and from Pittsburgh.
