The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers over 45,000 items, ranging from large-print books, to magazines, to audio and videotapes and offers all citizens the right to obtain information and knowledge in order to participate in the democratic process. As a community landmark, the library has become a prominent fixture on Lawrence Avenue in downtown Ellwood City and an active center that fosters curiosity, creativity, and inspiration.
The library offers preschool story telling hours on the weekends and is a main coordinator of the Story Telling Festival held annually in Ewing Park.
Since 2002, the Ellwood City Area Public Library has been the recipient of five Best Practices Awards from the Pennsylvania Library Association for early learning and early development programs, as well as a David J. Roberts EXCEL Library Service Award.
The library is open on Mondays 10am-4pm, Tuesday-Thursday 10am-7pm, Friday 10am-4pm, Saturday 9am-4pm, closed on Sunday.
