NOTICE: Ellwood City Boro Recycling Program

All residents and businesses of Ellwood City are required by state and local laws to recycle at their curb.  The Borough of Ellwood City offers a recylcing program as follows:

HOW: At your curb. Materials can be mixed together.

WHEN: Every other week on the same day as trash pick-up.

MATERIALS COLLECTED:

  • Glass food/beverage bottles and jars
  • Aluminum, steel and tin cans
  • Plastic bottles and jugs
  • Corrugated cardboard
  • Magazines
  • Newspapers, including inserts
  • Mixed office paper
  • Junk mail

SPRING/FALL CLEANUP: Yes. Varies, check with Valley Waste or the borough for details.

LARGE/BULK ITEM PICKUP: Yes. Year-round tag program for large or bulk items. Contact the borough for information or to purchase tags.

LEAVES/YARD WASTE: Yes. Leaves, grass clippings, branches less than 3″ diameter, brush, plants flowers, roots, shubbery, wood chips, and saw dust. Check with borough for Yard Waste Bins, schedule, and materials collected.

CHRISTMAS TREE: Yes. Borough residents can discard live trees at the public works garage on Fourth Street through the month of January. Live trees only, no decorations, and do not place in bags.
